The Blue Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad is largely funded by community support.  Last year, your donations helped raise the necessary funds to match a 50/50 state grant to purchase one Autopulse unit.  This year, we have received a 50/50 matching funds grant from the Rescue Squad Assistance Fund, administered by the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services, to assist in the purchase of a Zoll E-Series 12-Lead EKG Monitor.  While the grant will provide substantial funding, the squad is still responsible for raising more than $11,000 for the purchase.  This is in addition to the funds necessary to support the squad's ongoing operations.
